Sheesh Mahal

Sheesh Mahal truly justifies its name as the palace is actually adorned with mirror work. If you visit this palace you will definitely see that the whole space is decked with intricate with mirror work. To add on the beauty of the room there are beautiful paintings on the wall of the palace. The ceilings are also decorated with gold, silver, blue and green chandeliers.

Phool Mahal

The palace was made for the pleasure and entertainment of the kings. The phool mahal was mainly used for performances by the female dancers and other musical shows or social gatherings. It was called as Phool mahal as it was made to look like a beautiful flower. This palace was also decorated with the gold which was brought far away from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Jhanki Mahal

Janki Mahal, now a part of Mehrangarh Museum was actually called the “Palace of Glimpses”. The windows were used by the ladies to peep down at the courtyard. Some beautifully designed cradles are kept here. Artistic and creative ceilings, windows and lighting make the whole palace look more adorable. These details speak a lot about the luxurious life that royal women used to live.

Chamunda Mataji Temple is located at the southern end of Mehrangarh Fort. In 1460, Rao Jodha brought the idol of Devi Chamunda Mata from Mandore to this place. The deity is considered as the ‘Isht Devi’ or adored goddess of the royal family and also worshipped by common people of Jodhpur.

Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park sprawls over 72 hectare land near Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur. The park was created in 2006 to preserve the natural ecology around the fort. The park has around two hundred and fifty species of native plants including most of the arid plants of the region.
